PathoProof™ Mastitis PCR Assay
Bacteria detected by the test
PathoProof™ Mastitis Complete-12 Kit identifies the following bacterial species and groups:
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Enterococcus sp. (including E. faecalis and E. faecium)
- Corynebacterium bovis
- Staphylococcal β-lactamase gene (the gene responsible for penicillin resistance in staphylococci)
- Escherichia coli
- Streptococcus dysgalactiae
- Staphylococcus sp. (including Staphylococcus aureus and all major coagulase-negative staphylococci)
- Streptococcus agalactiae
- Streptococcus uberis
- Klebsiella sp. (including K. oxytoca and K. pneumoniae)
- Serratia marcescens
- Arcanobacterium pyogenes and/or Peptoniphilus indolicus
PathoProof™ Mastitis Major-3 Kit identifies the following bacterial species:
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Streptococcus agalactiae
- Mycoplasma bovis
Large-scale prevalence studies indicate that >95 % of all clinical and subclinical mastitis cases are caused by the species identified by the PathoProof Mastitis PCR Assay.
